TASER 10Axon Enterprise Inc. has recently launched the TASER 10 (for law enforcement), the latest energy weapon in the TASER line. The TASER 10 is considered the most advanced and effective TASER energy weapon yet. The launch of the TASER 10 follows Axon's announcement to cut gun-related deaths by 50% between police and the public in the next decade. The TASER 10 is part of the company's larger initiative to drive change in public safety.

In 2020, Axon made significant investments in less-lethal technology to better serve public safety. The TASER 10 has several improvements over previous models, including:

  • De-escalation features such as a 1,000-lumen pulsing light, loud audible alerts, and LASER painting to warn subjects to comply before deploying probes.

  • A longer range of 45 feet, compared to 25 feet previously, provides more time and space for decision-making and reducing risk.

  • The ability to deploy up to 10 probes, compared to 4 probes previously, with a different tone indicating a good connection.

  • Individually targeted probes for improved accuracy and versatility.

Axon states that the TASER 10 is the most reliable energy weapon yet. Over 80% of officer-involved shootings occur within a 40-foot range, but the TASER 10 provides a range of 45 feet, allowing for more time to de-escalate and resolve conflicts. The TASER 10 also provides multiple opportunities to immediately stop a threat without reloading, with a two-probe-connect design and smart technology to deliver only the necessary charge to the best four connections. The device has a reduced voltage of approximately 1,000 volts compared to 50,000 volts with the TASER 7 or TASER 7 CQ. See the TASER story video below.

According to AXON's 10-K (12/31/2022), "Federal regulation of sales in the U.S.: All current CED models, with the exception of TASER 10, which launched in January 2023, are not firearms regulated by the ATF, and our consumer products are regulated by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The TASER 10 is regulated by the ATF under the Gun Control Act of 1968 and is subject to applicable state and local firearms regulations that are jurisdiction-specific. Axon must maintain a federal firearms license to manufacture and sell the TASER 10, which subjects Axon to periodic compliance inspections by the ATF. License violations discovered by the ATF can result in fines, penalties, warning letters or license revocation. Additionally, if we fail to comply with ATF rules and regulations, the ATF may limit our TASER 10 activities or growth, fine us, or ultimately, suspend our ability to produce and sell the TASER 10 product line. There are currently no federal laws restricting sales of our other currently offered CED products in the U.S."

Note: Axon has not yet announced plans to make the TASER 10 available to civilians. However, it's rumored that the TASER 10 will be available for civilians in 2024 but a firearms license will be required.

The right to a well armed militia... why would cops be allowed to have things that civilians cannot... because a corrupt governments only enemy is the people.... level the playing field and allow everyone to protect themselves. Great piece of equipment 10/10 I really appreciated the axon roadshow
Real hoping you do not need FFL they can change gunpowder and switch it to co2 nitrogen gas and taser 10 gunpowder one will be sold to law enforcement only
Really, gunpowder! That's ironic! It's a less lethal device that uses gunpowder and is considered a firearm. Go figure.
Very excited for the Taser 10, and still hoping we'll see a consumer version. The Taser 10 will require sale through a FFL, and be treated as a handgun, because the cartridges actually use gunpowder this time around for propulsion. That means this Taser is actually a firearm, and has to be sold as such.

It's possible we'll see a different cartridge available that is gas propelled only, but I have a feeling this is either not going to make it home or will require an FFL to buy it... I'd still go through an FFL (and do a FSC in CA and a 10 day wait) to get one :)
