TASERAccording to TASER/Axon, a US DOJ-funded study by the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center study found that 99.75% of 1,201 field uses of TASER weapons in a wide range of drug and alcohol influences, ages, and race resulted in no significant injuries, demonstrating that the TASER device is the safest intermediate use-of-force option for police.

Tasers are electroshock weapons that use electrical current to disrupt muscle control, causing temporary incapacitation. When used correctly, Tasers are generally considered to be safe non-lethal weapons. However, like any weapon, there is a risk of injury or death if the Taser is misused or if the person being Tasered has a pre-existing medical condition that makes them vulnerable to the effects of the electrical current.

Tasers have been designed to minimize the risk of injury, and they have been widely adopted by law enforcement agencies and security professionals as a less-lethal option for controlling violent or combative individuals. When used according to the manufacturer's instructions, Tasers have been shown to be effective at controlling violent or combative individuals without causing serious injury.

However, Tasers are not without risk. There have been reports of individuals dying after being Tasered, although these incidents are relatively rare. In many cases, the individuals who died had underlying medical conditions that made them more vulnerable to the effects of the electrical current. There have also been instances of individuals suffering serious injuries after being Tasered, such as broken bones or head injuries sustained during falls.

In conclusion, Tasers are generally considered to be safe non-lethal weapons when used according to the manufacturer's instructions. However, like any weapon, there is a risk of injury or death if the Taser is misused or if the person being Tasered has a pre-existing medical condition that makes them vulnerable to the effects of the electrical current. It is important to use Tasers responsibly and only in situations where they are necessary to protect oneself or others from harm.
