I have ordered one of these for each of my family members. Although my family members are well trained in the use of firearms and several of them carry, I am increasingly worried with the decline of our civilization that one of them will be forced to defend themselves. The after effect of using a firearm even in warranted circumstances could amount to bankruptcy, incarceration, or at the least expensive and life changing repercussions. If a pepperball blast will suffice to neutralize a life threatening situation so much the better. Since my family is familiar with firearms, the heft and quality of the Brrna LE is appreciated- it does not feel like a toy. The picatinny rail allows a light and laser, the magazine release and safety feel well made and perfectly placed and the tool to remove the 12 gram cylinder is part of the magazine- a clever idea. I have fired mine multiple times with various type balls and have concluded that putting a kinetic on top of the magazine with four pepperballs on the bottom works best. Since the Byrna uses Pull Pierce technology, the first ball is not at full velocity and often does not burst the pepper or the baby powder training balls and having a kinetic ball on top reduces the chance of a pepperball cracking while in the chamber if the launcher is roughly handled. Go with the LE, the SD and HD take a 8 gram co2 and don't shoot as fast, don't have the modified trigger and don't have the highlighted sights.

Very pleased with the quality of the build and flawless operation. My family is familiar with the firearms and target shoots regularly so I wanted to give them a non lethal alternative that they wouldn't think of as a bb gun. The LE shoots like a pistol at close range and we shot at targets with kinetic and pepperballs. The pepperballs all burst on hard surfaces and the kinetics broke through some heavy cardboard boxes. The magazine release and safety gave the weapon credibility as a legitimate option for self defense. I have since purchased 6 units for everyone hoping that if the situation arises they will reach for the Byrna first.
