3. Shift the safety switch to the forward (ARMED) position and wait for the safety cap to pop off the energy weapon.

4. Move the safety switch to the rearward (SAFE) position.

5. Remove the cartridge from the protective sleeve.

6. While keeping your hands away from the blast doors and firing button, insert the cartridge into the front of the energy weapon until it is approximately 90 percent inserted.

7. Confirm the cartridge's secure fit by gently pulling on its sides.

8. Put the safety cap back on the energy weapon.

How to unload the TASER Bolt 2 Cartridge:

Removing a live cartridge can be challenging due to the wire bundles behind the insertion tabs. Follow these steps carefully:

1. Ensure that the front of the Bolt 2 energy weapon is pointed in a safe direction.

2. Move the safety switch forward to cause the safety cap to pop off.

3. Move the safety switch to the rearward (SAFE) position. Avoid placing any part of your hands or body in front of the Bolt 2 energy weapon.

4. Depress both tabs until the cartridge releases. Note that it might take two hands to depress the tabs. Do not press the firing button.

5. Re-install the clear cartridge cover on the cartridge.

For expended cartridges, removal requires less force since the wires are no longer behind the tabs.

It's important to note that the cartridges for the Bolt 2 energy weapon are designed without an "up" or "down" position. This design allows for quick reloads in stressful situations without the worry of inserting it upside down.
